School House Lofts
COMING SOON - AVAILABLE FALL QUARTER 2017!
School House Lofts is a purpose-built student housing project located steps from Showalter Hall.
Currently undergoing a complete transformation, the School House Lofts is a 1931 high school built for the City of Cheney as a result of population growth in the early 20th century. Throughout construction, a great deal of the original charm and historic character has been retained. Although a beautiful historic building, School House Lofts will be brought into the new age with modern finishes and upgrades throughout.
This unique living environment will provide Eastern Washington students the most exclusive home to be found in Cheney. High ceilings on all three floors, including large windows throughout. Grand community spaces to include a Game Room and Study Room. Terrazo flooring throughout hallways and maple flooring in most units.
This three story structure is undergoing renovation with conversion to purpose-built student housing. High ceilings on all three floors, including large windows throughout. Grand community spaces to include a Game Room and Study Room. Terrazo flooring throughout common hallways and maple flooring in most units.
The auditorium will be re-purposed with half becoming the Study Hall, which will provide an area for students to study and interact with others. The Study Hall will retain its original character complete with the proscenium, impressive wood paneled back wall and historic seating. The remainder will become large suite style units with 13 foot ceilings.
As with the auditorium, the gymnasium will be repurposed with half retaining its original character, becoming a game room and a place for students to socialize. The remainder of the gym will be built-out to provide bicycle storage, tenant storage, and laundry lounge. With 24 foot ceilings the School House Lofts game room will be the envy of all EWU students.
